MSU to hold blood drive
The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive Tuesday, April 22 in Maxwell Student Union Lounge from noon to 5 p.m.
The ARC goal is to have at least 80 students participate, because some of the blood donated will be lost to insufficient quantities.
“There is not a shortage of blood, but there is always a need to replenish, since blood only has a shelf life of 42 days,” Krista Shealy, student coordinator of ARC, said.
Georgia College & State University usually holds three blood drives each year, once in the fall and twice in the spring. In 2003-2004, GC&SU will hold four blood drives.
“The ARC needs more blood in August, so I plan to hold an extra blood drive the Week of Welcome to let new freshmen know GC&SU is involved with the ARC and to involve more students,” Paul Sedor, student coordinator of ARC, said.
The blood received from the blood drive will be distributed to hospitals throughout Georgia and will go to support our military.
