Fuller tutors GC&SU students
Dee Fuller, a tutor at the Learning Center on campus, is connected to the university in many ways, even though he never actually attended classes at Georgia College & State University.
Dee’s father, Donald Fuller, who has a Doctorate from Harvard was also the head of the Business Department at GC&SU from 1945 through 1971. He saw the college make the move to co-ed in the sixties. His wife, Katherine Fuller, is an alumna of GC&SU and currently serves on the Alumni Board of Directors.
Fuller was born in Pennsylvania and raised here in Milledgeville. He went to college at Davidson in North Carolina and then attended the University of Georgia. He originally got his degree in English but due to a shift in ideology, he went back to school and got a second degree in Math.
Fuller spent 27 years teaching at the college level at Gainesville College. Fuller also served in the Navy. When he retired three years ago he continued to work for a year at Gainesville College, as a tutor in the same subjects that he taught as a professor. He and his wife made the move last year to Milledgeville, and he has been tutoring at GC&SU ever since.
“I always loved tutoring. I just didn’t like to teach, so I quit teaching and started tutoring,” said Fuller.
Fuller is a proficient tutor in all math subjects including: math modeling; statistics; pre-calculus; calculus and trigonometry. If you would like to set up an appointment with Fuller or any of the other tutors at the Learning Center, you can call 445-1179, visit www.gcsu.edu/tutoring, or come by the Learning Center, which is located in Lanier Hall room 110.
