Robinson sparks team to fourth place finish
Georgia College & State University’s David Robinson won low medalist honors and helped the Bobcat Golf team to a fourth place tie out of 17 teams at the Emerald Coast Collegiate Tournament this weekend at the Tiger Point Golf and Country Club.
Robinson, a senior from Sandersville, Ga., stroked rounds of 74, 71 and 73, on the par 72 course to finish with a two-over 218. He had one eagle and 10 birdies in the three rounds.
GC&SU registered rounds of 305, 305 and 312 to finish tied with Nebraska with a two day score of 922. West Florida won the tournament with rounds of 294, 299 and 295 for a two-day 888. Austin-Peay finished second with a three round team score of 906, while Wofford College finished third with a 922.
GC&SU’s Carter Collins finished 21st overall with a three-round 232, while Bill Faith and Martin Medrano were tied for 44th overall after tallying 237 for the tournament.
The GC&SU golf team hosts the Bobcat Invitational March 23 through March 25 in Greensboro, Ga.
