“All Alone…”

I have always thought it is an advantage to first know what you want before ever getting involved with someone. Sometimes we spend so much time getting caught up in this Merry-Go-Round that is life that we forget how great it is to just be silent and still. So, when you feel like there is no way you’ll ever find that special someone, try and take time to get to know yourself.

There is a famous quote by Shakespeare that reads “To thine own self, be true.” This is so important, even today because of many reasons. Have you ever found yourself dating someone and desperately wanting to just be by yourself? You keep hearing it in your head “What I wouldn’t give to be alone right now.” It’s those moments that as a single you should take time to enjoy. There will always be the time where you are with someone and your whole universe is them, but until then, enjoy the single life.

It may seem strange, but you learn so much more when you take the time to listen to your heart and head in solitude. Keep in mind that no one knows you better than yourself, and you need to be confident in who you are in order to find a mate that best fits your ideals. Sure those lonely hours do get kind of boring and the constant empty spot on the pillow next to you is disheartening, but remember love is something that never comes easily. It’s like fate. It has a funny way of creeping up on you, and even when you think that you aren’t ready, it has a way of making sure that you are.

So, for all you singles out there who are looking for Mr. or Ms. Right, stop it. Enjoy the life you lead and get to love the person you are, first. Then and only then, will you find someone who loves you just the same.
