Burger brings new tune to WGUR
WGUR 88.9 FM is Georgia College & State University’s campus radio station that is for the students, by the students.
Kyle Burger is another returning student to GC&SU’s campus radio station WGUR 88.9 FM. Burger is a Mass Communication student. He is receiving practicum credit for working at the radio station and is required to work a minimum of 3 hours a week. “Seemed perfect because I am doing something I love to do and receiving credit,” Burger said.
The Kyle Burger Show is every Tuesday afternoon from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Burger likes to play a mix of music but mainly showcases alternative rock.
“Some of my favorite bands include Midtown, Finch, Yellow Card, Incubus and Taking Back Sunday,” said Burger. “Even though you may have not heard of these bands you can tune in and check it out because it is all Rock-n-Roll.”
Besides being a DJ at WGUR, Burger is learning to work in the Production Room. Here, he is learning how to edit music, create sweepers and much more. Burger enjoys “learning everything about WGUR from on the air to off the air.” In his spare time Burger also plays intramurals and referees intramural games.
For Burger, WGUR is more than just another step closer to graduating, it is something he loves. His final thought on WGUR is, “I love music…yeah baby, yeah!”
Besides loving music, WGUR loves t-shirts. Coming soon to the GC&SU campus are WGUR 88.9 FM t-shirts. So students, get ready to dig in your pockets and put aside a few bucks because the t-shirts are going to be awesome. The t-shirts will be here before you know it.
