Bryant offers twist to WGUR
WGUR 88.9 FM is Georgia College & State University’s campus radio station that is for the students, run by the students.
Kristin Bryant returns to GC&SU’s campus radio station WGUR 88.9 FM. Bryant is an Early Childhood Education major. Even though she is not receiving practicum credit like the Mass Communication students, she still contributes a lot her time and efforts to WGUR. “I enjoy the college station because I get to play the music I want to play,” said Bryant.
Bryant’s show is on Wednesday nights from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Like WGUR, Bryant likes to play a variety of music.
“I play a mix of music but, mainly Indie Rock,” said Bryant. “I enjoy hearing about new music on the station from my friends.”
A friend, Katie Keller, joins her every week as her on air side-kick.
Naming your favorite band is not the easiest thing to do.
“I don’t really have one favorite band, but I am really into things like Sleater-Kinney, Mirah, Braid, Rainer Maria and old Madonna,” said Bryant.
Working at WGUR for Bryant is more pleasure than work. Her final thought on working at the station is that “WGUR is great!”
In addition to new music and Indie Rock, WGUR also likes new things
that rock. WGUR decided to jump on the internet band wagon by putting together our own website. WGUR’s website:
http://www.gcsu.edu/orgs/student/wgur, designed student General Manager Mason Brown. This new website provides up-to-date information of what is going on in the WGUR studio.
