Letter to the Editor

Dear GC&SU Community,

As the Sports Information Director at Georgia College & State University, one of my biggest concerns every year is figuring out ways to get more people to attend athletic events. In the 10 years that I’ve been associated with the programs here, I have seen and implemented a lot of different ideas and promotions to try to fill the seats. The most common complaint I hear; however, is that people don’t know when the games are being held. While this is frustrating to hear, due to all the efforts we make to advertise games with table tents and signs put up around campus and delivering poster schedules to dorms, I cannot ignore the fact that not all of our efforts are being seen.

So here are the best ways to find out what’s going on. Please visit the GC&SU athletics web site at www.gcsu.edu/bobcats. When you get there, you will see links for each sport. There is a schedule for each sport attached to the link. You can also check the stats sections and news release sections on each sport to see what the teams have been doing. If you routinely visit the GC&SU Info Page, there are athletic links there as well. If you are a regular at the MSU dining hall and campus Chick Fil-A, you will usually find table tents for upcoming sports events on most of the tables a few days before each event. There should also be pocket schedules in places such as the PawPrints Bookstore, the Cellar, the Student Activities Office and the GC&SU Athletics Office. If any of those locations are out of schedules, please let me know, and we will re-stock!
If you would like me to mail you some schedules, please send me an e-mail at bmuller@gcsu.edu.

I hope this will alleviate any problems our fans have in finding out when the Bobcats are playing. I hope to see you at the games.

Thanks.

Sincerely,
Brad Muller
Assistant Director of Athletics/Sports Information Director
