And your point is
I cannot understand why Spring Semester starts Jan. 3. Normally I wouldn’t complain, but Jan. 3 is a Friday. Students would appreciate having that last day off to get back from trips and/or visits with family members.
I don’t like the way this feels.
I think about 5,000 Georgia College & State University students would prefer having school start back on Monday, Jan. 6. So many students will enjoy coming back to campus on a Monday rather than a Friday, myself included.
I had plans of going to New York and visiting my family along with watching the ball drop in Times Square, but my plans are in serious jeopardy since I found out that semester will start on a Friday.
For 97 years, Times Square has been the center of worldwide attention
on New Year’s Eve, beginning in 1904 when owners of One Times Square began conducting rooftop celebrations to usher in the New Year.
Normally, my family and I would go to the city on Jan. 1 and enjoy the sites of the big apple, but now I probably will not be able to do this.
I just want to celebrate the 98th year New Year’s Eve in Times Square.
I really wish there was a way to push the reopening of school three days forward. I still do not see the actual point in making school start on a Friday?
Not one student will enjoy that day. Classes do not need to start on a Friday but on a Monday. Things will run much smoother if this changes.
Besides students, faculty would also enjoy the day off. Some of the
faculty whom I have spoken with said that they wish school would start on the following Monday instead of Friday.
This still does not make any sense to me. If you can remember, I supported ‘PAWS to think day’ but this is something I disagree with. I personally feel that a good amount of students will end up missing the day without any hesitation.
Why should students have to come back for just one day of classes? Why not just push everything back one day? That would make so much more sense to several other people included myself.
I remember high school and how the first day of school would always be on a Friday, I feel like I’m back in high school all over again.
For students who have problems with their schedule, nothing will be done until Monday because the records building is closed over the weekend. So why not just start school on Monday, Jan. 6 and solve problems for everyone on campus.
I know this sounds like a big complaint column, but that’s what it is. Jan. 6 sounds much better to me than Jan. 3.
