Letter to the editor
I am responding to last week’s article about Student Government legislation, specifically, the section that dealt with the University Students Council. It was incorrectly reported that SGA passed a resolution to approve USC as an ad-hoc committee. USC was created by SGA and has always been an ad-hoc committee. The resolution in question made USC a standing committee of SGA. Ad-hoc committees can be dissolved by executive order from the SGA President. USC has been active for more than three years and this action was taken to make the body permanent, not subject to the whim of any SGA President.
