Letter to the Editor

Contrary to last Friday’s Union Recorder article entitled “GC&SU to require all freshmen to live on campus,” the Student Government Association has not passed a resolution to require local students to reside on campus. The administration of GC&SU has not consulted SGA on this matter.

SGA does completely support the efforts of the administration to require all other incoming freshmen to live in the residence halls as it will foster a better learning environment than apartment living can provide. However, the officers of Student Government strongly oppose the extension of this requirement to local students living with their relatives. If any students would like to discuss this matter, please call an SGA officer at 445-2795, or come to the SGA office in MSU, room 129B.
