Intramurals enjoying fast start
With the start of a new school year comes the start of another year of intramural sports here at GC&SU. Now entering its twentieth year, the program keeps going strong.
“Participation has increased since last year,” said Scott McCoy, coordinator for Intramural and Outdoor Programs. “We have four more flag football teams than we had last year.”
Flag football is the only sport going on right now, but it is only the second of nine events being offered this fall. Volleyball, kickball, table tennis, and racquetball are just a few.
“It’s good recreation,” said McCoy. “It gives people a chance to get out, meet people and have fun. It also teaches teamwork and leadership skills.”
Intramurals are open to faculty, staff and students. Sign up sheets are located outside of the MSU Lounge. For more information, contact Scott McCoy at 445-0664.
