GC&SU searces for talented student performers

Georgia College & State University’s Campus Activities Board (CAB) is looking for talented students to feature in its new Under the Radar series.

The Under the Radar series will feature local musicians and will be held on Sept. 17 at the Maxwell Student Union.

The Under the Radar series was the idea of Will Dennison, director of CAB to showcase new talent to GC&SU faculty and students.

“[Under the Radar] is a great opportunity for us to show appreciation to the many local bands playing the Milledgeville music scene,” Dennison said.

Since GC&SU is one of the leading liberal arts schools in the southeast, it’s fitting that this type of talent outlet is available.

“The name (Under the Radar) means that these (bands) are just below the “radar” of labels and charts, and they could break through at any moment,” Dennison said.

Open Mic Night, another live performance event, includes similar performances as Under the Radar, but also includes poetry readings, and other live displays of talent.

If you are interested in information about Under the Radar, contact Erin Watts or Will Dennison at 445-3200.
