It’s that time again
I recently went to a hair salon (which doesn’t advertise in The Colonnade), and received a really bad haircut. I mean the hairstylist sliced and diced up the back of my head. My sideburns (which are not that long) are now longer then the back of the hair on my head.
First of all, the person cutting my hair was clueless. I was greeted with a rude ‘hello’ and then a really, really bad haircut.
Second, I told the hairstylist that my haircut, which is not something out of the ordinary and was not too hard to do. (Let me throw in the fact that normally I go somewhere else but they were closed.)
So I am sitting in the chair and thinking that everything was going to be okay. I was so wrong. The stylist asked me if I wanted her to round or square off the back of my neck. My response, “What?” Nobody had ever asked me that before, how was I supposed to know. So I guess some would say that it’s my fault. I wasn’t educated enough in the art of hair cutting and styling. What can I say, I’m a beauty school drop-out.
Lately, as much as I hate it, I have had to wear a hat. A University of Michigan hat, no less. Got to represent and be mob deep. If you see me on the quad or at The Colonnade, say hi, but don’t hate on my hair. I am a sensitive soul. I have feelings too. Just so you know that I am really not fronting about the cut, I got the other editors to add their thoughts.
His hair really does look bad. He’s not allowed to sit in front of me in class because I wouldn’t be able to concentrate. Instead I would be fixated on the back of his head because it’s worse than he realizes. The back is also crooked. – Megan, News Editor.
His hair needs to be so much longer in the back. I mean his hair just stops once you get to the back of his head. – Erin, Editorial Page Editor.
