Counselors here to help
Is college life getting the better of you?
If so, the Counseling Services office located in Lanier Hall may be just what you need.
The counseling services help you with any problems that may arise. They do individual counseling for those with family issues or personal anxiety.
They provide academic support, time management help, career counseling and help with personal issues.
Students are promised confidentiality, though “there are legal and ethical limits on the confidentiality you are given,” said Dr. Wade. If students approach the counselors with talk of suicide or violence to someone else, the “confidentiality is null and void” because the counselors are required by law to keep the students safe, said Counselor Susan Hendley.
In addidion to counseling, the Counseling Services office staff alwo work on programs in residence halls and give classroom workshops.
The counselors are available in room 122 in Lanier Hall, from 8 a.m. through 5 p.m. on weekdays.
