Venture Out goes tree climbing

Over the past weekend, Venture Out went to North Georgia and had the experience of a lifetime. 11 people took place in the event, and they all really enjoyed themselves.
“My favorite thing to do was climbing in trees and looking at the stars,” said Graduate Assistant Joseph Pate. “I think everyone else really liked the tree climbing too.”
Since the beginning of the year Venture Out has really become something on campus that, everyone seems interested in.
“This is a great place to meet people. If you are interested in Venture Out, please come to us and we will be very flexible with you,” said Pate.
Already this year Venture Out has gone white water rafting, hiking and camping participated in a community service trail clean up event and many more events.
Venture is planning on having one more event on April 27. They plan on going skydiving.
“Skydiving should be really fun. The cost is $125, and we have one person signed up already and at least 15 more are interested in going,” said Pate.
Skydiving is not the only Venture Out event left for this year. Every Wednesday night, there is an indoor wall climb in the Centennial Center.
“We do it on West Court, in Centennial Center. We just bought new equipment, and it is free to all of the students who want to do it,” said Pate.
Scott McCoy, Coordinator of Intramural & Outdoor Program, had positive things to say about the event.
“Wow, it was really fantastic,” said McCoy. “I think everyone had an outstanding time. Everyone on the trip really liked the rock and tree climbing.”
