Alumni Weekend coming up at GC&SU

“Building Tomorrow on Yesterday’s Foundation” is the theme of Alumni Weekend 2002 at Georgia College & State University, Friday, April 26, and Saturday, April 27.
The weekend will feature a number of special events, including reunions of classes, an alumni awards ceremony, an Alumni Jazz Band Concert, picnics, campus tours and a Greek Alumni Reunion. The theme reflects the changes
taking place on the campus while the university honors its many traditions of the past.
The following alumni awards will be given at the Alumni Awards Ceremony: Outstanding Recent Alumni Award: Elizabeth S. Hines, ’90, ’92 Alumnae Heritage Award: Olive Boline Wills, O49 (In Memoriam) Alumni Achievement Award: Michael L. Gilstrap, O77 Ethel Rae Mozo-Stewart Alumni Community Service Award: Martha V. Bowers, O51
Honorary Alumni Award: Tom Watson Brown Alumni Service Award: Les Clark Kranzberg, O51 William Bone Golden Key Award: Bobby E. Parham

Friday, April 26:
2 p.m.: Honors Day Convocation, Russell Auditorium
6 p.m.: A Cappella Choir Reunion Dinner, Max Noah Recital Hall
6:30 p.m.: 4th Annual Bunting School of Business Alumni Picnic, Front Porch, Atkinson Hall
7 p.m.: Music and Theatre Alumni Reunion Celebration,Centennial Center Pool
Saturday, April 27: 9-11:30 a.m.: Alumni Weekend Campus Tours, Maxwell Student Union
11:30 a.m.: Tommy Maxwell Portrait Unveiling and Rededication, Maxwell Student Union
11:45 a.m.: Half-Century Club Luncheon, Maxwell Student Union, Hoke Dining Room
Noon-4 p.m.: Pan-Hellenic Greek Alumni Reunion Cookout, Lake Laurel Lodge
2 p.m.: Alumni Awards Ceremony, Max Noah Recital Hall
4 p.m.: Herty Hall Rededication and Open House, HertyHall,Main Entrance
4:30 p.m.: Concert on the Lawn, Front Campus
6 p.m.: Class of 1952 Golden Reunion Dinner, Max Noah Recital Hall; Class of 1962 40th Reunion Dinner, Maxwell Student Union Lounge, Lower Level;
Class of 1977 Silver Reunion Dinner, Maxwell Student Union, Hoke Dining Room, Upper Level
8 p.m.: 7th Annual Greek Alumni Reunion,West Campus Complex
