MidSouth has new location and banking for GC&SU

MidSouth Federal Credit Union now offers free checking to students as well as services to students, faculty and staff at Georgia College & State University.
The credit union opened its first office in Parks Hall in 1990. In 1993, the branch moved to the Old Capitol Shopping Center. Only GC&SU employees could join the credit union.
“MidSouth Credit Union has always had a special relationship with Georgia College & State University. We have always supported them throughout the years, and they have always done the same for us in return,” Branch Manager Connie Ogletree said.
On December 4, 2001 MidSouth Credit Union opened a second Milledgeville location in the campus bookstore. This move coincided with the credit union receiving a community charter, which opened membership to students and members of the community
“We are excited about our new location and I am more than happy to help students with their needs,” said Jamie Davis is the full time teller that works there.
MidSouth Credit Union especially wants students to join. The credit union offers a free checking account for students with no limited on check writing and no minimum balance. They also offer ATM and debit cards.
“We are planning to have an ATM available on campus very soon for students, as well as faculty, after remodeling is done in the near future,” Davis said.
The credit union also offers other services to students with accounts.
“MidSouth also offers a VISA with a low APR rate.” This is a good way for students to start building their credit and learn to manage their money,” Ogletree said..
MidSouth Credit Union campus hours of operation are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 1- 4:30 p.m. If you have other concerns, questions about your account or need a transaction, call and leave a message on the answering machine, and Jamie Davis will return your phone call as soon as possible.
The credit union also has a new main office located at 375 Hammock Road. The phone number there is 452-0430. Ogletree is the one to call if you have any further questions.
“MidSouth Credit Union is a full financial institution. We offer faculty, staff, students and the people of Milledgeville anything they need when it comes to banking,” said Ogletree.
MidSouth Credit Union’s main office hours of operation are Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. -5:15 p.m., Friday 9 a.m. – 6 p.m,. and Saturday mornings from 9 a.m. – 1 p. m. The location’s grand opening is Saturday February 9.
“We here at MidSouth Credit Union really care about or customers and want to accommodate all their needs. We are just one big happy family,” Ogletree said.
