SGA running smoothly
The Student Government Association voted to allocate money for two members of the National Pan-Hellenic council to attend the National Greek Leadership conference and swore in two new members.
In their meeting Wednesday, the Student Government Association voted to approve the bill that allocated three hundred and fifty dollars by a vote of 12 yeas, 10 neas, and one abstention. The conference will take place from October 27th to 29th, and both of the members will travel to Atlanta to attend the conference. The Student Government Association tabled the bill last week because of their policy concerning bills that include money. Almost half of the senators disagreed with the passing of the bill, but despite the nea-sayers, the bill still passed.
The Student Government Association swore in Mandy Hodges and Sarah Yurgionas at their weekly meeting on Wednesday as well.
Another bill introduced this past Wednesday dealt with providing a study log at the library information desk for Registered Student Organizations to keep track of their members’ study habits. The purpose of the study log would be to help the scholarship chair of each RSO keep track of members of their organizations’ study habits. The bill would be mainly for Greek organizations that actually have a scholarship chair that was in charge of making sure the members of their organizations are studying. Senators voted to send the bill to the Student Affairs committee to be improved further and looked into by the committee members.
The Student Government Association of Georgia College & State University has passed two bills this year so far but is looking to live up to its accomplishments of last year’s momentous year.
